Latest fight between Nigerian Army and Boko Haram in Konduga town,


Nigerian troops have killed over 100 terrorists in a fierce battle when the Boko Haram insurgents launched a massive attack on Konduga town, about 35 kilometres from Maiduguri, Borno State, on Friday in a fight that lasted about three hours.


A statement signed on behalf of the director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Olajide Olaleye, also disclosed that the troops recovered three Hilux and one Buffalo vehicles with mounted anti-aircraft guns, three general purpose machine guns, over 30 AK-47 rifles and two global positioning systems.

Golden Eaglets discriminated over Ebola virus


The National U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets suffered discrimination over the deadly Ebola disease in the hands of Gabonese officials yesterday in Togo when they were disembarked from a Gabon-bound ASKY Airline flight.

Consequently, The Nigeria Football Federation has sent a strong letter of protest to the Confederation of African Football over the unsavoury incident in Lome.
Having flown from their base in Calabar to Lagos and travelled by road from Lagos to Cotonou as a result of the cancellation of all Gabon –bound flights from Lagos, the delegation members were issued boarding passes on the ASKY Airline flight from Cotonou to Libreville, via Lome, only to be subjected to the harsh treatment after landing in the Togolese capital.

2014 JUNE/JULY NECO result released



The National Examinations Council, (NECO) on Wednesday announced the June/ July 2014 results with remarkable improvement when compared with the last year performance conducted by the body, with 72.58 per cent  credit pass in English Language and 69.49 per cent credit pass in Mathematics.

Announcing the results at its National Headquarters in Minna, the Registrar and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the body, Professor Promise Nwackukwu Okpala, noted that  the results were marked improvement  on the previous exams conducted between 2012 and 2014.

Ebola: Reps To Review Sept 22 School Resumption date

The House of Representatives has directed its Committee on Education to review the federal government’s directive to schools to resume on September 22 as against October 13 over the Ebola Virus Disease in the country.

Deputy House spokesman, Victor Ogene, in a statement said the directive was necessitated by “growing concern” amongst the public, especially parents and guardians of the pupils and students.

Boko Haram attacked former Nigerian president son and killed 24 soldiers

Boko Haram militants attacked a platoon led by the son of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, shooting him today.

 He sustained serious injuries to his legs and was being transported to the hospital at the time of this report.
Adeboye Obasanjo, an army engineer, was a Lieutenant Colonel at there Division in Jos, Plateau State.
