10 Ways to Prevent Your Android Device from Hanging or Lagging

10 Ways to Prevent Your Android Device from Hanging or Lagging in 2024.

Experiencing a slow or lagging Android device can be frustrating, but there are several methods to troubleshoot and enhance its performance. Below are ten effective strategies to address and potentially stop hanging or lagging issues on your Android device:

1. Close Background Apps

Apps running in the background consume system resources, which can slow down your device. To improve performance, close unnecessary apps by accessing the recent apps menu and swiping them away, or use a task manager app to end background processes.

2. Restart Your Device

A simple restart can often resolve temporary performance issues by clearing system memory and refreshing processes. Power off your Android device, wait a few seconds, then power it back on to check if the lagging or hanging persists.

Google will now be accepting payments in naira on the Play Store

Google and Verve have teamed up to enhance the convenience of digital transactions on the Google Play Store for Nigerians. As of Wednesday, Nigerians can use their Verve cards to make purchases on the Google Play Store.

In this new partnership, Google will handle Verve transactions within Nigeria and process them in the local currency, naira. The transactions will be treated as local transactions by the country's banking institutions.

Head of Retail and Payment Partnerships at Google Play, Anthea Crawford, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to collaborate with Verve, which expands Google Play access for more Nigerians. The introduction of local payments with Verve cards is a major milestone, providing more Nigerians with the opportunity to participate in the app economy and access the apps they require."

Vincent Ogbunude, Managing Director of Verve International, added, "The integration with Google Play is a significant step towards realizing Verve's vision of promoting financial inclusion. We are thrilled to bring digital content and services closer to Verve cardholders, thereby bridging the digital divide."

JAMB 2023 Cut-off marks announced

The announcement has been made regarding the JAMB cut-off marks for the 2023/2024 admissions. This information was disclosed during the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, which took place on June 24th, 2023, at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja.

The minimum scores for securing admission into universities in Nigeria have been set at 140 by JAMB. Similarly, the minimum cut-off marks for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education have also been fixed at 100 each. However, it is important to note that institutions have the freedom to establish their own individual cut-off marks. Nonetheless, no institution will be permitted to admit any candidate who scores below the specified benchmark.

JAMB has set the fee for Post-UTME screening at N2,000. According to JAMB, any institution that wishes to conduct screening can do so, but the fee for the screening should not exceed N2,000.

Following the release of the cut-off marks, public tertiary institutions will commence the announcement of their Post-UTME sales forms and screening dates. Candidates should remain vigilant and watch out for these announcements.
