Many has been finding it difficult to connect their laptop or computer using their GPRS enable phone to internet. Here I am going to elucidate and demystify the mystries ecountered when trying to do that,the only thing it will take you is to follow the steps or rudiments i am going to point out below:
* Before trying to connect your pc or laptop to internet using your phone as modem you have to get these consequential things:
1. LAPTOP OR COMPUTER.
2. GPRS ENABLED PHONE
3. PC SUITE.
GOOD USB CABLE OR BLUETOOTH HARDWARE.
After getting the stipulated items above follow the steps sequentially:
- First put on your pc or laptop and as well your phone
- Insert the USB cable in your phone.
- After inserting the USB cable to phone then socket the other end to your pc or laptop then your phone will ask you a question like USB data cable connected. select mode. Select ok then among the options given I want to use Nokia phone as an example select 'Nokia mode'
- After a while your pc or laptop will recognise your phone with the help of the
Pc suite installed in your Pc.
Press CTRL+ ESC when it opens duble click where your PC SUITE is, this is for Nokia PC suit users, when it opens look at the PC suit if your phone name is in it, if you see your phone name at top end of the PC suit bear it mind that your phone has now synchronised with your Pc or laptop.
Then click where internet icon is, it looks like a globe and allow it for some seconds it will be connecting to internet untill it rewrites 'connected ' then know it that you have connected your pc to the internet.
What if after you must have clicked on the internet icon and waited a while instead of seeing connected you will see 'subscribe to packet data first' then see what to do, click where's spanner icon symbolising settings when you click on it the first thing to see is your modem being your phone name. If it happaned to be that you didn't see your phone model know it that you have to search for it before going to the other options.
- If your phone model is there then click on forward-arror key downwards, when it moves there is the place provided for you to select the Internet service operation you are using or you wanted to connect with, If you are using MTN you have to search for MTN Nigeria , if located select it. That of ZAIN search for Zain Nigeria Nigeria then select it.The same applies to other networks be it Nigeria networks or other networks. After selecting the network of your own, click where ok is being represented by good icon or mark it will redirect you where you started before for you to reconnect. Click where there's two arrors symbol (connect key) is then allow it for few seconds, it will connect.
NOTE
Another thing that will deter your phone to connect your PC to internet is when your phone is not properly configured or when your USB is bad or not properly plug to the neccessary areas.
